STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

Stakeholder engagement means all those activities carried out by an organisation in order to involve key stakeholders in crucial or material topics.

Stakeholder engagement is a critical tool especially when it becomes a systemic approach:

  • it contributes to determining the quality of relations of the company with its context;

  • it allows organisations to formulate material strategies and policies because they are informed by knowledge of stakeholder expectations.

For example, stakeholder engagement is indispensable to identify the ESG topics of greatest relevance  to the company (through a materiality assessment) and which, as such, must be included and addressed in the sustainability plan.
